PHOBIAS AND STATE NAME ETYMOLOGIES

Postby Dr. Goodword » Thu Nov 02, 2006 12:41 am

When was the last time you browsed alphaDictionary's Reference Shelf? It contains several new glossaries and tests, including a corrected list of phobias expanded by manias and philias and accompanied by a new phobia test. We also have corrected and verified etymologies of all the US state names with references. Do not use the phobia list and state etymologies currently on the Web; they are all grievously faulty. We have worked on these lists for several months to make them as accurate as possible. And we are adding stuff like this all the time.

Well it's a good thing that I don't have phalacrophobia, or I would end up frightened of myself.

Haw Haw all da way to Haw Creek! Good one.

What then would be the proper term for "fear of being informed of the defects in known lists of phobias"?

Or are we afraid of that term?

I'm afraid to find out...

Yes, silly me. Phobias are for the phobic. We all share our filial feelings for those, who on the whole would rather be in philias.

Especially, allodoxaphilia and logophilia.

Never. We are all agoraphiles.
Well, there was really only one Agoraphile, but he seems to have pulled his name from the list and gone the way of those other legends, Grant Hutchinson and KatyBr. He's still alive and emailing jokes, though. Thank Goodness!
