"Storrowed"

Postby bbeeton » Wed Jan 11, 2023 4:34 pm

Today, my husband encountered, for the first time, the name of a Boston road known for the low clearance of its underpasses, and the remarkable propensity of tall tractor trailers to get stuck under them, used as a verb.. (Either the drivers don't know the height of the box they're hauling, or can't read, or both.) But this time, the stuck trailer was in one of the tunnels leading to the Boston airport. What a mess!

It was just a matter of time.

Here's a nice article on the road itself. I guess this makes the word a local toponym? I wonder if it will spread beyond New England.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
