Swivet is a new one to me, as is dorbellist. I like swivet, but the other one is too close to sounding like someone who rings the doorbell too much that it doesn't quite work for me.

Fascinating always to compare experiences. I've hear the expression "She's in a swivet" for as long as I can remember. The equivalent of in a tizzy.

"Gruntle," the last word on the list, was a "Word of the Day" way back on Feb 21, 2010.

It seems to be a word that wants it both ways: as an intransitive verb, it means to grumble, complain while as a transitive verb, it is a humorous way of saying assuage, modify.

Gruntle also appears in the first sentence of "How I met my wife, a tale undone in orphan negatives" that is on the "Fun and Games" page of this website. It originally appeared in the New Yorker, July 25, 1994

Thanks for sharing the article. I really like "gruntle" out of that list.
