This word appears nearly exclusively on the Moscow Times website (www.themoscowtimes.com), a supposedly English language site in the weather section. I think they think it means Relative Humidity, but cannot confirm that via on-line dictionaries.

Does anyone out there have a clue?

While browsing, I happened to come across this thread, so I decided to investigate this use of Rewelt. I too am baffled. (Relative Water Element, perhaps? No, that's just a wild guess.) I haven't found any relevant sources other than the Moscow Times. Here is an example of its use of the term, in an edition from 2008:

I have also visited the website mentioned in Slava's post. This has an up-to-date edition of the paper, which now uses the word "Humidity" rather than "Rewelt".

No, can't say as I've noticed any particular mistake. It must be so glaring that I can't see it.

I get the Moscow Times as well, and have seen the
word in the past, but attributed it to difficulties
with translation, but not seen lately.

The pressure given in millibars (mb) is impossibly low. I suspect they mean "millimetres of mercury" (mmHg), which would make the figure about right.

It doesn't throw any light on "Rewelt", though.
