Presume

Postby William Hupy » Thu Feb 16, 2017 12:29 pm

Is there a substantial difference between presume and assume? Was Stanley being presumptuous when he said "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?"
Interesting that the Latin has two prefixes, to and under, followed by take....to under take.
