Popups on this site

Postby Dr. Goodword » Fri Nov 13, 2020 7:54 pm

I cannot find any way to keep Google ads from popping up on my website. However, your browser probably has a popup blocker.

For Chrome
In the upper right corner click ... (three vertical dots)
Scroll down and click "Settings"
Under "Privacy and security," click "Site settings.
Click "Pop-ups and redirects".
At the top, slice the button to "Blocked"

For MS Internet Explorer
Click the setting button in the uppr right corner (cog wheel)
Select the "Privacy" tab
Check the "Turn on Pop-up Blocker" box

For Macs
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > Safari and turn on Block Pop-ups and Fraudulent Website Warning.
On your Mac, you can find these options in Safari > Preferences.

Google doesn't consider its ads "popups", so popup blockers don't work against them. I think I've found a way to block them throughout the website, despite Google's attempt to hide access to the method. Tell me if you are still getting them. I don't any more.

Dr Goodword, thank you for your efforts. Unfortunately, I am still getting an ad when click on the link to the Agora. It appears these ads appear only on the first time I go to the Agora page following a boot-up. I am using Safari 13.1.1. and macOS Catalina 10.15.5

The behavioir of the popups (which Google doesnt' call "popups" so popup blockers don't work) are the same for Firefox, Chrome and MSIE. I have a question in the Adsense discussion group which has one answer that doesn't make sense. I'll check again today.

While it may not be the best solution for generating revenue, Adblock+ works well for me. I don't see any pop-up ads anywhere.
