Be sure to try our new Historical Dictionary of American Slang which provides consistent definitions of words, so that you can easily follow how slang terms change for given meanings (e.g. "to leave": beat it, scram, blow, bug out, hit the road, etc. You can also see how the meanings of the same slang term changes over time, e.g. bug: burglar alarm, secret microphone, glitch, to bother, etc. Just type in either the term or the meaning in the same window.
You can also type in the decade, e.g. 1920, and get the most prominent slang terms of the 20s. As usual, there is nothing on the Web like it.
