Re: Mattress

I have a creek on my property and it serves also as a
run off for rain from the streets. The bank is very unstable
in many areas. I have secured mattress springs from beds
in three places, now long buried under silt, to reinforce
the bank. The word applies to me in a very real way.

Re: Memorial

Here at Offutt Air Force Base, home of STRATCOM,
they finished identifying the 300th set of remains
from the torpedoing of the USS Arizona from
Pearl Harbor Day. Remember all who died.

Re: Macabre

A SciFi book I recently finished,humans were
given a small dot mechanism which they stuck
behind their ear, and it became a universal
translator for all alien languages. I'm hoping
for that in heaven.

Philip- Back in the day, right after dinosaurs were no more, everyone learned Latin. It was required in private and public schools. In Junior year I transferred schools and French was offered. I loved it. Took it four years, visited Quebec, and eventually France. But no body anywhere uses it around ...

I was not too much into politics at the time
but I remember people sighing and rolling their
eyes at the mention of his name.

Re: Close

Thanks, Doc.
I also remember how classmates used the term
"that's close" when expressing 'disbelief' to something
another said. It was sort of like "no way" is used by
many today. "That's close" was early 1960's colloquialism.

Definitely futbol or soccer related and probably some east
or southeast asian language. "Gargle"(I like that) is not any
help for me either {nor Babel}.

Re: Ramadan

I’m giving myself a break on weekends, so I run repeats Saturday and Sunday. I rerun words initially run ten years before. I justify this with the justifications that (1) those who have subscribed within the past 10 years haven’t seen them and (2) those who subscribed before then probably need a re...
