a 360 degree spinning jump from, and landing in, a left back stance. I did this once when I was being chased by a cotton mouth down a dirt road in Arkansas. That was when I ran on air - hence gailr's term "Air Huny" BTW- has anyone ever seen/heard of a six legged spider-thing that ...

I once worked in the Bureau of Data Management and Strategy (No, I did NOT pick the name.). WordPerfect's spell checker did not recognize BDMS so it suggested "bums." I could not have agreed more. No reflection on me, of course, but some of the others in that organization . . . ;-) I know...

Mamawsandy , for those of us who in the heat of the moment tend to reply directly and forget to compose first in, say, Word™, it's good to know that Google Toolbar provides an orthographic control (spellcheck) that works perfectly well on, e g, draughts of postings to the Agora . Personally I use F...

When I go for a calk, I get dry and crumbly. When I do my set-ups, I'm not as lumber as I would like to be. On the other hand, when I contemplate the here rafter, I realize that I am joist fine.... Those two boards are history. Now I am a brown belt, recommended, testing for brown belt, decided lat...

Could be a hard sell...
I'm afraid that a hard sell could leave one feeling like they came from the school of (portable) hard (drive) knocks, which is never good.

Time to retire "This is a free country, and I have the permits, licenses, stamps, authorizations, stickers, passes, endorsements, and tax receipts to prove it."--Unknown Sometimes opportunity knocks. Other times, you have to roam the streets until you find it, beat it over the head, and d...

Yeah, and us half-breeds ? (or in the modern term, hybrids (hmm, maybe that one belongs up in the Wurds of the Year thread) ) While "up north" on business about 10 years ago, this was said to me..."You're from the south? You must know a lot of ignorant people!" Another good resp...

Avoiding injury requiring sutures sounds like a good plan, Huny! BTW, a friend whose father is a doctor says that super glue was used as a battlefield surgical adhesive in the 60's. So how many Southerners here are tired (or tarred) of being treated like ignorant bumpkins by sophisticated Northerners, simply based on dialect? Hm? Of course, the same phenomenon exists everywhere. Northern Brits are goofy; folks from the Southwest (like Gonzo) are slow and rather dimwitted; don'...
