I have occasionally heard the term 'for keeps' instead of 'for good', meaning the same thing.

I have occasionally heard the term 'for keeps' instead of 'for good', meaning the same thing.
I usually hear "for keeps" in the idiom "playing for keeps" meaning "winner takes all" or "this is a serious situation," depending on the context.

In a game:
"Enough practice rounds. Now we play for keeps."

In combat:
"That last round landed kinda close."
"Yep. They're playin' for keeps."

This bandying about sets me to wondering about a seemingly similar idiom, "and how". Not the same meaning but curious nonetheless. Any takers?

According to this site, "and how!" might best be uttered when wearing a long black dress, fringed shawl and bobbed hair.

Yes the Bimbos of yore have gotten in touch with their feminine side.
