Playful or silly. Trifling. ''Many little children are desipient.''

Desipient
\De*sip"i*ent\, a. [L. desipiens, p. pr. of desipere to be foolish; de- + sapere to be wise.] Foolish; silly; trifling. [R.]

Latin de means "down from," "concerning," or "from."

"Down from wise" would most certainly be "foolish."

Some of the managers I've known in my career were descended from the apes, as in several steps down from apes.

No offense, Mark!
