Kitty Corner or Catty Corner?
Kitty Corner or Catty Corner?
Had always heard Catty Corner until I went to college... then some upstate NY friends said Kitty Corner.
It is catty-corner. See this explanation of how the expression comes from cater-cornered.
However, in fairness to your upstate NY friends (and my mother, who hailed from Troy, NY), this term does have many spellingsand pronounciations.

kitty corner nmeans across the street one house down, catty-wampus means askew, like, "When I tossed the box of junk in the room, it landed all catty-wampus against the wall."My Taekwondo instructor, here in Asheville NC, also uses catty-wampus. It does have a nice ring to it.

I do know the meaning. By having a nice ring to it, I meant that catty-wampus sounds nicer than ass-backwards, twisted or misaligned.
BTW Bailey, I am shocked. I never would have taken you for an indoors-junk-tosser.
