b. Charming, interesting, or attractive: a piquant face.
3. Archaic Causing hurt feelings; stinging.



[French, from Old French, present participle of piquer, to prick; see pique.]



piquan·cy, piquant·ness n.
piquant·ly adv.
The vegetable juice I make every mornng gains a certain piquancy when I add the two jalapeños. Yumm!

I've never heard this usage before, but perhaps it will work well with this:

hmmm, probably accounts for the marked lack of human companionship some of us, [especially computer-philes- a chcken-egg-which one comes first?- thing I'd assume] seem to have.
