[quote="ashaffer"]If "Disable BBCode" is unchecked, the BBCode is enabled. It might in fact be a thread thing (I'm logged in as my administrator user, so it might be different for me.)[/quote]
Well, if this has anything to do with the Quote box we used to have, it's still not working. All we, that is to say what I see, is a [ with "quote" inside it, a ] and then the [/]quote bit.
So, in case you get the real deal, what I've got here is "[quote="ashaffer"] a bunch of text and "[/quote]".

I think it might be this thread - I'm logged in as my mortal user and I'm stuck with BBCode OFF, but I can use BBCode on other threads. Can you try it elsewhere? (Do you get the BBCode checkbox if you're posting in other threads?)

Yes, I've confirmed that the announcements part of the board is set up so that you can't use BBCode or smilies unless you're an administrator. Please let me know if you're unable to use that on other parts of the forum, and I'll change the permissions.

Aye, I can post links, but I can't see them in Preview. I just tried on a different thread, and it showed up in the actual post, but not in the preview. That was still plain text. Preview used to show what the post would look like in real life.
I have used a smiley recently, so I don't have anything to say about that one. It worked.
I believe I also made an error in my comment about unread messages. It appears I clicked Unread posts, not Unanswered. My bad, as the saying goes. I would bow down before you in penance, but we don't have emoticons here, so I guess I'm getting off nearly scot free.

More good news, I think.
It appears the Quote framing DOES work, only not here where all normal functions are shut off. It looks very different from what it used to be, but the quote is noticeably a quote.
As to the blue, I, for one, could rather easily get accustomed to it, as long as things work. I obviously can't answer for others, but if it works, and it's not egregiously wacky, I say go for it.
You have a tough weekend ahead of you. I hope it's not too troubling, and, though we both know I've been a major critic of this whole deal, if you think I can provide any worthwhile input, feel free to fire away. I'm online most of the day.

This looks great and well worth waiting for! Looks fantastic. One issue may or may not remain. Philip Hudson was not receiving his daily WotD, and I presume there were others, although I got it. Has whatever that was also been taken aree of?

One odd issue that I just got reminded of: Post Counts.
I had a listing of 3165. I posted just above, and I still have 3165. If we do an Author search, I's got me a whole 3186. Oops, something do be wrong, n'est ce pas? Other than the fractured English, that is.
Edit: after posting this one, I still have 3165.

Re: Avatars should be back up, other news.
The above half-dozen or so posts are blank.
I see some by ashaffer, whom I presume is Andrew giving some sort
of explanation. I have no idea what is being said.
I had the person who fixes my computer when it is down, over last
night. He spent an hour here. He can find nothing wrong with
my computer or its settings.
I spent time with the company from whom I receive the internet
and they went online with me to AlAgora. They said all problems
are coming from the sender.
No avatars, mine or anyone else.
Posts for 6-8 at a space are blank.
Everything went green.
No notifications by email.
No daily word of the day.
no responses to PM's to Andrew, or Doc, slava did respond after
third email attempt: so PM may be coming back on.
I see some discussion of Facebook, if AA is going that direction
I am out since I don't have it.

When was the last time you looked? I'm seeing your "guy with a ukulele" icon. Which web browser are you using? Do you know how to send a screenshot? No avatars, mine or anyone else.
The email issue is something that came along with the new server - I'm going to look into a third-party product for sending the emails, but it will take some time (they only let you send a few thousand emails a day until they're convinced you're not sending spam.)

Re: Avatars should be back up, other news.
I see ashaffer made a post after my last one.
But like all of them it is blank, so I have no idea if it is
just an update or response to mine above it.
As of this time -9:43 pm there is no change.
Blank posts,
no email notifications,
no avatars.
no daily email.
And some say the site is blue, but on mine it is green.
Edit: 10:18 PM. Received an email from someone I know who comes
to the site periodically. He says he can see my avatar. I cannot
see mine, nor anyone else's. He also says the site is blue, green here.
I could care less about the number of posts, but mine has been stuck
at 2297 all day.

Hi,
If you're encountering display issues: what web browser are you using?
I've upgraded the site and redone some of the color styling, so it should be mostly green/brown/tan now to match the rest of the site, although there is some blue left over.

Cleaned my browser cache. Never heard that term before.
Around here it is called browser history. I do that at least
twice a week anyhow.
7:35 PM saturday: Still nothing.

[quote="ashaffer"]Hi,

-A[/quote] Andrew, don't forget that LukeJavan8 can't read your messages. I have his e-mail, so if you wish, you can send me queries for him. I gather you wouldn't wish to make your personal address public. As you're an administrator, you can look mine up. Or just ask the Doc. I know he has it as we've been using it.
