bric-a-brac: Oh, it could just be an interesting topic for Word of the Day. I can find the etymology online, so I have background on it, but it might be an interesting one to present.
Also, I see you have an entry on "camp", with a reference to "kitsch", but I do not think "kitsch" itself is discussed yet. It could be another interesting one.

bric-a-brac
Known in restaurant circles by quasi-Thai moniker, "That Guy" (e.g. heard in the back.."that guy is here again"; "that guy on/at table 10"; "that guy is going for a sirloin again", etc.)

Re: bric-a-brac
Nope, kitsch has yet to be done.
As to bric-a-brac, I think we need an entire dictionary devoted to this concept. There are so many words for those little nothing we pick up on our way through life that someone should compile them all, give details on their origins where available, and attempt to describe the differences in how they are used.

Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
