I was wondering if you had any thoughts:

of poets and manual workers.”

Presumably he means a combination of wordsmiths and those who get their hands dirty in the maelstrom of life. But language is more democratic than that. It arises from every walk of life and contains regional variants, as evident from our discussions and the Doc's test. Occupations even develop their own cant, whether medical or IT, and a wide variety of slang is available. Come to the party and dive in! The water's fine!

Just to toss in my two cents, I'd say it all goes back to the idea of prescription and description. The way it "should" be vs. the way it is.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.

A great deal would be improved in this world were we to distinguish more often between what is and what should be. Not to discourage alteration to a better world, but it begins by grasping a firm hold on reality.
