texted (past tense of text – to send a text message [to])
Do you pronounce the past tense (e.g. "I texted him") as "textid" or "text"? Most people I hear pronounce it "text".
Wiktionary even gives "text" as an alternative spelling of the past tense.
texted
Re: texted
Good observation!
Personally, I pronounce the past tense of the verb as a one-syllable word with the final "t" released. In the past tense, it is certainly not a two syllable word. There is no difference (almost no difference?) between present and past in pronunciation
I texted you yesterday
aɪ ˈtɛkst ju ˈjɛstərˌdeɪ
I'll text you tomorrow
aɪl ˈtɛkst ju təˈmɑˌroʊ
In contrast dent - dented, net - netted, rent - rented, vent - vented, went - wented (child language) are all two syllables in the past tense.
(As previously mentioned we NEED some IPA tools on this site! I spent tooooooo long searching around on the internet to find a way to represent this (these) pronunciation(s) graphically.)

Re: texted
If I have already done it, I use past tense and two syllables. Thought everyone did. Text is present tense.
