Uxorious
I know this has been submitted previously. However, I can’t resist, as someone I corresponded with used this ancient Latin word appropriately. Unusually fond of or submissive to a wife. I don’t know if the root had traction in any other language. As far as I know, which isn’t far, no Romance languages picked this up. Anyone?

Re: Uxorious
I just took a gander at other sites to see what I could see, and found out about uxoricide, the killing of one's wife. Odd that I don't seem to have come across that earlier.
Is there a male-directed version for uxorious? I know there are matrilineal societies, so perhaps there is such?

Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
