There was a great parody of sportswriting in my college freshman English book by Frank somebody. Maybe that will resonate with someone and help me retrieve it. I wrote sports for my HS and freshman college papers, so I continue to pay attention to that genre, which can be so easily cliched (clichèed?). I note how predictable TV sports interviews are as are the announcers. Thus I watch most sports with the sound off.
