Souvenir
Not that there will be an abundance of souvenirs purchased this year. From French, meaning remembrance. French grabbed this from Latin, for “to come up from below”. The Latin for come, venire, is from PIE, gwa.

What do you folks out there think, is memento a more sentimental souvenir? Or just a fancier way of saying it?
