Perhaps. But this was not an introduction to an exhaustive analysis of sector performance. It was a one-sentence item in a general news report. I stand by my original curmudgeonly position, sir!
In your ordinary generic news report, a ‘mixed market’ is one where two of the three popular indices close one way, and the third, in the opposite direction. Or is it one and two . . . ?
