I'll drink to that--a Yuengling Porter, as a matter of fact, with a nod to Bailey for the opening: "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."No, gzer, you're more of a coot, I think.Gail, skinem obviously knows neither me nor Palewriter . . .

Bailey? You flatter me, sir. But as long as you have the good taste to break out the fruits of America's Oldest Brewery I shall join you therein...I'll drink to that--a Yuengling Porter, as a matter of fact, with a nod to Bailey for the opening: "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."No, gzer, you're more of a coot, I think.Gail, skinem obviously knows neither me nor Palewriter . . .

. . . but I'll down a Brewski (or "Do Beers" as Agoraphile would say) with anyone on this board.Me? I'm still trying to get that ice-pick outta my eye.

As to Yuengling, I'm partial to their Porter. A local brew-pub chain here, Ramshead Tavern, has good seasonal beers. Christmas in July happens on the 25th of this month when they re-release their Doppelbock, which is their December seasonal brew. Somewhere between 8% and 9% ABV, as I recall. You have a couple of those and you know you've had a couple o' beers. They serve that one in the 12-ounce glasses instead of the regular large ones. Good stuff! I have a doctor's appointment that day to have a couple of moles removed, and I figure I won't be needing any prescription painkillers that afternoon . . . .
