Moot
Moot has been used a good deal on this site, but I can't find a full treatment. My problem with the word is its usage has changed, but not the definitions, which all report the word means something like debatable or ambiguous. But wherever I now see the word it intends false, or at least dealt with, over, decided. HOw do you all hear it?

Re: Moot
I concur, this one has split into two basically opposite meanings. A moot point is either an important one, or one that no longer needs to be taken into consideration.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
