Grail
This was in a crossword puzzle I just did, and for some reason I decided to look it up. Oddly, if etymonline is right, most of our depictions of a grail seem to be off. If the root really did come from a word meaning 'a flat dish or shallow vessel', it's grown some pretty steep sides.
