Splay

Postby Slava » Sun Nov 02, 2008 3:18 pm

onelook.com:

▸ noun: an outward bevel around a door or window that makes it seem larger
▸ verb: spread open or apart ("He splayed his huge hands over the table")
▸ verb: turn outward ("These birds can splay out their toes")
▸ verb: move out of position
▸ adjective: turned outward in an ungainly manner ("Splay knees")

I saw this one while reading about giraffes, and it struck me as worthy.
Life is like playing chess with chessmen who each have thoughts and feelings and motives of their own.
